OBJECTIVES MET
Scouts were able to:
1. Review internet safety, privacy, and netiquette guidelines and understand the importance of following these practices through video case studies. Scouts signed internet safety pledges.
2. Differentiate between the different types of copyright and fair use laws and practice rules for fair use in their website design.
3. Explore, via video, the rules and guidelines for good website design through website examples of good as well as bad design on the internet.
4. Evaluate a website based on a rubric of effective website design practices.
5. Discover ways to increase site traffic to a website and apply these to their own future website marketing and design.
6. Choose a topic or subject for their own website or blog.
7. Explore the features of a wire-frame and build, either by hand or by a computer generated application, a wire-frame (or blue-print) of their future website design using the design guidelines learned.
8. Create an original website, putting into practice all of the design guidelines learned, through a free web-builder application of choice and share with peers.
