Photographer
This workshop puts all the resources you need to learn the basics of how to use the buttons and settings on your digital camera and learn how to creatively frame and compose photographs while learning tips and tricks from professional photographers. Then be a stylist and fashion photographer, a sports or action photographer, an artist, a travel photographer etc. to use what you learned to do landscape, portrait,action and specialty shots to portray a story, emotion, or take action message in your photographs. Included are videos, printables, a quiz to identify composition rules,a thought provoking survey on photography ethics, and more! Materials needed: a camera! (A point and shoot or DSLR digital camera would be best, but a smart phone camera will still work.), any props required for the photos you choose to take. Time required to complete: 1-3 hours |
Public Policy
In this workshop learn what public policy is, who does it, and how its done. Quiz yourself on federal public policy programs. Play and online game to learn about what YOU can do to make a change in public policy. Learn how women in history have been policy makers and changers and then connect that to what YOU could do, like them, to help mold policies in your community and world. Do an activity to discover why we don't all get along when making public policy decisions and how different countries apply public policy to similar issues. All of the information and resources you need to earn this badge are found in this workshop. Watch a virtual interview with a local public policy maker and witness part of an actual policy making meeting following Robert's Rules of Order. Then practice these skills on your own!
