Wacky Weather Oddities
Raining fish: Greek scrolls dated as far back as 200BC record events of animals raining from the sky including fish, frogs, and crayfish, many of which are still alive as they rain down. This is most likely caused by a tornado or water spout releasing the animals as they lose storm energy.
Raining "Blood" or Red Rain has been noted in 1896, 2001, and periodically throughout 2012 particularly in the Indian state of Kerala. At first it was believed to be caused by extraterrestrials, but was discovered to be caused by red algae spores small enough to be caught up in the water cycle of evaporation and condensation.
