Objectives Met
Scouts were able to:
1. Investigate the science of colors in the sky (blue skies, rainbows, sunsets, auroras, layers of the sky etc. )
2. Create an artistic product to represent the colors in the sky either on the computer or by hand.
3. Explore unusual weather occurrences seen in the sky and research/share other examples they have witnessed.
4. Explore people in the sky by taking a virtual field trip to a local airport and interviewing an air traffic controller.
5. Listen to current news about space missions.
6. Experience live communications between pilots and air traffic controllers.
7. Play online flight and tower control simulation games.
8. Spell their name using the aviation phonetic alphabet.
9. Learn about examples of sky pollution (air, light, climate, space trash...) and create a PSA print or video advertisement to educate others.
10. Review the science of the sky at night. (lunar eclipse, total solar eclipse, meteor shower, comets...)
